Daddy, I think your battery is down to 2% Said by my 7-year-old son. Who stared at me triumphantly while I speared green beans with my fork lethargically and mindlessly.
Now, I had a coronavirus vaccine that afternoon. And I can’t deny that instead of having an injection, it felt like I had lived through the Ironman triathlon (at least, what I imagine when I Google the pictures).
Yet, everything tells me I need a holiday. I like to compare it to my modem.
After much and prolonged Internet use, my connection becomes slow and unstable. Once, I went looking for the cause. Maybe some faults at my provider’s end? Maybe the weather? Did I pay the bill?
My brother had the golden tip. He said… unplug your modem! Wait a minute and plug it in again. Abracadabra, you’re back online.
It is exactly this complete shutdown of the system (the hard reset) that allows the device to ‘rest’. In the end, this has a positive effect on the performance of the connection and the connected devices.
That is why I also unplug every now and then. Not for a minute, because my system needs a bit more boot time.
Enjoy your holiday!
